Meet Our Dentist
Dr. Leah Hairston
Dr. Leah Hairston was born in Parkersburg, WV and spent her childhood in Spencer, WV. She graduated from Roane County High School in 2007. Dr. Leah Hairston attended Shepherd University from August 2007 to December 2010. She graduated with a degree in Biology and Chemistry. Dr. Leah Hairston started dental school in August 2011 at West Virginia University and graduated in May of 2015. Dr. Leah Hairston was inspired to be a dentist from her love of people. She wanted to help them feel confident with themselves and their smile.
Dr. Leah Hairston met her husband Jeremy Hairston while at Shepherd University. He played college football while at Shepherd University. Jeremy then went to Liberty University to receive his Masters in Physical Education and Health. He is currently a teacher and football coach at Riverside High School in Belle, WV. Jeremy and Dr. Leah got married in May 2015, and had their first child, Charlotte, on November 3rd, 2017.
The influential people in Dr. Leah Hairston’s life are her parents Pam and Brian Berkhouse. Her parents always supported and encouraged her during her entire life. Dr. Leah Hairston believes she would not be where she is today without them.
Dr. Leah Hairston enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She enjoys watching Riverside Warrior football games on Friday evenings in the fall. Dr. Leah Hairston has two dogs, Baylee, a German Shorthaired Pointer and Lily, a German Shepherd. Her husband and her love spending time outside with their dogs.

Amy Murray – Office Manager and Dental Assistant
Amy was born in Parkersburg, WV, and grew up in Elizabeth, WV. She graduated from Wirt County High School. The most influential people in Amy’s life are her parents. Hobbies she enjoys outside of work are reading, attending sporting events, spending time with family and friends, and camping. Amy has two children, Derek 26 and Hannah 22. She also has a dog Macy who is a Miniature Pincher.
Teresa Queen – Registered Dental Hygienist
Teresa was born in Charleston, WV, and grew up in Ravenswood, WV. She graduated from Ravenswood High School. Teresa graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelors degree in Dental Hygiene in 1995. The most influential person in her life is her father. Teresa was inspired to be a dental hygienist because she wanted to be in the healthcare field. She always loved going to the dentist and that is how she discovered dental hygiene. Teresa’s hobby is attending her children’s sporting events. She is married to her husband Ben Queen, and they have three children, Benjamin, 15, Garyn, 8, and Isabella, 6. All of Teresa’s children attend schools in Ravenswood, WV, and are involved in sports.
Shawndra Matheny – Dental Assistant
Shawndra was born in Charleston, WV, and grew up in Jackson County, WV. She graduated from Ravenswood High School. Shawndra attended West Virginia University of Parkersburg and obtained her dental assistant certification in 2013. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Shawndra is married to her husband Daniel Matheny and they have two children, Kaiden, 9, and Aubree, 6.
Born in Charleston, WV. Lifelong resident of Jackson County. Graduated Ripley High School in 2014. I continued my education at West Virginia Junior College where I received a dental assisting certificate. I am the proud mother of my son, Ace. I enjoy hanging out with my family and going to all their sporting events. I also like to spend time fishing with my son. I joined Hairston Family Dentistry in March of 2018. And looking forward to many more years at this dental office.
Born and raised in Charleston, WV. Graduated from Riverside High School in 2003. Moved to Ravenswood in 2013. Married husband a Todd, with 2 children, Todd Jr. and Taylor, and 5 fur babies. I enjoy camping, sporting events, fishing and spending time with my family. New to the dental field, looking forward to serving the community of a Ravenswood, WV and surrounding areas.
